3D Scanning & Reverse Engineering

Accurate digital twins of your components - ready for further development, calculation and production.

3D scanning with Zeiss T-Scan Hawk 2 at Felthaus Engineering

We use the market's most precise handheld 3D scanner, the Zeiss T-Scan Hawk 2, to capture complex geometries with a precision of 0.02 mm. For larger structures, machine rooms and warehouses we use the Faro Focus room scanner, which quickly and accurately maps large spaces. By combining multiple scans, we can cover objects, rooms and facilities over 100 metres.

The result is a complete digital twin of your component: point clouds, mesh models, STL or STEP files ready for use in CAD, FEM simulation or direct production. Reverse engineering gives you access to the exact geometry of components that have no drawings, whether the purpose is repair, further development or documentation.

What can we scan?

  • Spare parts with no existing documentation
  • Wear inspection and quality assurance against original CAD model
  • As-built documentation of installations and plant
  • Basis for FEM simulation and structural calculations
  • Starting point for redesign and optimisation

Faster access to accurate 3D data

We laser-scan components up to eight metres and handle challenging surfaces such as reflective, black and organic shapes. The result integrates directly with CAD, calculations and production design, so you avoid manual intermediaries and get a seamless digital chain from measurement to finished product.

Reliable digital documentation

With a digital twin of your object, you have permanent access to compare, verify and reference throughout the product's lifetime. We deliver as-built documentation that makes renovation, adaptation and regulatory approval simpler.

Metrological precision

Our equipment is verified to ISO 10360 with a volumetric accuracy of 0.02 mm + 0.015 mm/m.
